It's a South American carnivorous mammal and the longest member of Weasel family, reaching up to 1.7 metres (5.6ft). Giant otter is a social species with family groups typically supporting three to eight members. In the other side, this species is territorial and agressive between groups. The giant otter is a diurnal species that have behavior of activity during the daytime which is the opposite of nocturnal that thave behavior mostly at night.

The giant otters lives mostly in and along the Amazon River and in the Pantanal. They are now in the endangered status because of Habitat degradation and loss as the greatest current threat.

The giant otter subsists almost exclusively on a diet of fish, particularly characins and catfish. But may also eat crabs, turtles, snakes, and small caiman. This species has no serious natural predators other than humans, although it must compete with other species, including the neotropical and caiman species, for food recources (Wikipedia). This species can hunt singly, in pairs and in groups, relying on sharp eyesight to locate prey.

This species is amphibious, although primarily terrestrial. It occurs in freshwater rivers and streams, which generally flood seasonally. Other water habitat include freshwater springs and permanent freshwater lakes. Giant otters use areas beside rivers for building dens, campsites, and latrines. They clear significant amounts of vegetation while building their campsites. They could build their place in areas of maximum 28m long and 15m wide that well-marked by  scent glands, urine and feces to signal territory.

At least, you already know what is the one of the most endangered species in the world now. Hope we can do bigger things to conserve our wildlife living to live together besides us.

Thank you for reading! Hope you are waiting for the next writing!
